Spotlight Textiles

  In her own inimitable way Avril is using beloved 50's and 60's children's TV sows as the inspiration for her series of work. This small piece showing Pinky and Perky was shown at Textiles East Fair in February. Come along to the 'Spotlight on ....Heritage' exhibition at the Pond Gallery, Snape Maltings from 28th April to 3rd May to see a whole imaginative series of work by Avril.

 Julia Ringer is using her sketchbook to explore ways of conveying her ongoing research into Anglo Saxon artefacts, crafts and materials. This is preparation for her series of work for the forthcoming exhibition 'Spotlight on....Heritage' at the Pond Gallery, Snape Maltings IP17 1SP from 28th April until 3rd May 2023 Julia's sketchbook design work will on display as well as the finished textile art pieces so visitors can see the whole process

  Karen Bowe is producing a whole series of pieces using tartan and lots of hand stitching. Come along to see the result at the 'Spotlight on....Heritage' exhibition at the Pond Gallery, Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh IP17 1SP from 28th April until 3rd May 2023.   Yvonne has been using tweed as her 'heritage' fabric to create work for the Spotlight Textiles exhibition 'Spotlight on....Heritage' showing at the Pond Gallery, Snape Maltings IP17 1SP from 28th April until 3rd May 2023 Expect to see a whole series of work from Yvonne using repurposed former pieces and a range of vintage fabric - just lovely!

  Spotlight Textiles will also offer inspiration packs in lots of colour combinations - each one containing a fat quarter of a hand dyed cotton fabric plus lots of additional fabrics, threads and notions - a bargain at £5. These will be on sale, along with a large exhibition of new work at the exhibition 'Spotlight on.....Heritage' at the Pond Gallery, Snape Maltings IP17 1SP from Friday 28th April until Wed 3rd May 2023

Vintage lace for inspiration packs At the Spotlight Textiles exhibition 'Spotlight on....Heritage' showing at the Pond Gallery, Snape Maltings IP17 1SP from Friday 28th April until Wed 3rd May we will be offering a series of work using an 'inherited' or vintage recycled fabric. Each Spotlight member will several pieces of work to show. In addition we will be offering inspiration packs of vintage fabrics for visitors to buy - a bargain at £5 per pack - and create their own masterpiece    

  Mary's piece for the 'Spotlight on......Heritage' exhibition is still a work in progress. The inherited items for this piece as the blue transfer paper designs discovered when clearing out her Mother's house. Mary plans to give the transfers a new life and a modern twist.
