Avril Court - new work

Spotlight member Avril Court creates a real variety of work using all sorts of different media and techniques and always showing her imaginative and quirky style.

This puppet was made at a workshop with Joy Haynes.

Avril says "The face is made from foam coated with diluted PVA. A French style undergarment to fit the hand was then stitched to give movement to the puppet. The clothes were inspired by the materials purchased and the puppet evolved as if by magic!"

Pottery made with Tony Carter in his studio in Debenham, Suffolk. Stoneware clay. Bisque fired and then glazed.

A piece made for Eye Arts Guild challenge 'Where on earth are we going?'

Plastic waste incorporated into a painting of acrylic on canvas. Avril says "I hope that I captured the sadness of the turtle and wonder what ARE we doing to the earth"

Avril says "I like doing a lot of quick sketches and this portrait was done as one continuous line without taking the pen off the paper. I hope it captures the moment"
